Model Yasmin Le Bon wants to build a 'garden room' in the back garden of the Putney house she shares with husband Simon Le Bon, lead singer with top 1980s band Duran Duran.

Mrs Le Bon, who also found fame in the 1980s when she was one of the world's most highly paid models, has applied to Wandsworth Council for planning permission to build the 28 square metre brick building, finished with metal fascias. It will feature solar roof panels.

Six neighbours have been consulted about the plans, and the council is also seeking comments on the scheme until 19 January . You can make your views known by searching for application number 2023/4574 on the council's planning explorer.

Earlier this year Mrs Le Bon, aged 59, was given permission to excavate land in the back garden in order to create a 15m-long swimming pool. In 2021 she was also given permission for an extension, including a new conservatory extending into the back garden.

The Oxford-born model met Simon Le Bon at the height of his Duran Duran fame in 1984 and they married in 1985. She has previously talked in the media about her love for her Victorian Putney home, particularly how the couple's three children - Tallulah, Saffron and Amber - "adore" it.
