Neutra Kitchen, a new independent kitchenware store with a strong focus on healthy cooking and high-quality craftsmanship, is preparing to open on Putney High Street. The shop, located at 158 Putney High Street, is currently being fitted out and is expected to open its doors in around three weeks.
The business is the creation of founder Kahn, who previously ran a boutique on South Molton Street before choosing to relocate to Putney after the expiry of a lease. He describes the move as intentional and rooted in long-standing affection for the area, recalling its vibrancy in the 1990s and expressing confidence in its potential today. While some recent commentary has focused on the challenges facing high streets, he sees Putney as a place ready for renewal, especially with the return of Marks & Spencer and a growing appetite for independent retail.
Neutra Kitchen aims to bring a distinctive offer to the high street, specialising in chemical-free, non-toxic cookware made from natural materials sourced largely from the UK and Europe. The business is built on the belief that the tools used in the kitchen directly influence nutrition and wellbeing. Alongside its premium ranges, the shop will also stock more accessible everyday kitchenware designed to offer safety and quality without prohibitive prices.
The store will provide services that have become increasingly rare on local high streets, including knife-sharpening and polishing for copper and stainless-steel cookware. Later in the year, Neutra Kitchen plans to introduce a programme of healthy cooking classes for families, groups and children, with sessions exploring nutritious dishes from around the world.
