Fleur Anderson addresses the meeting in Putney

Putney residents joined Fleur Anderson MP at a community drop-in session at the Community Church at the Werter Road Community Centre.
The event, which took place on Saturday 19 October, was hosted by the Leader of Wandsworth Council, Councillor Simon Hogg.
Residents were able to meet with Councillor Hogg and local councillors and ask questions of the Council, speak with Fleur Anderson MP and seek advice from Citizens Advice Wandsworth, Children’s Services and local police.
During the open question and answer session, residents asked Councillor Hogg about ongoing roadworks on Putney Bridge, local housing projects including the Alton Estate and Ashburton Estates, as well as Hammersmith Bridge.
The Putney MP updated residents on her meeting earlier in the week with Minister Simon Lightwood, who has committed to restarting the Hammersmith Bridge taskforce.
Ms Anderson said afterwards, “It was great that so many people came and the Council Leader and I were able to answer questions about the major current Putney issues. Not surprisingly, the key issues were Hammersmith Bridge, buses and improving housing. It’s so important that when you have an issue, whether that be with childcare, energy bills, housing or pension credit, accessing help is easy. These resident advice days are held in different places across the Borough. They bring together all the local services residents need."
The event was part of a series of drop-in sessions being held across the borough, aimed at improving engagement with residents and ensuring that their voices are heard in the decision-making process.
