Deadline Looming to Register for Year 6 Tests
Some schools in the borough require they are taken before admission
The tests are used to determine a spread of banding within the schools
Parents wishing their children to attend certain secondary schools in Wandsworth Borough are being advised to register now for the Year 6 admissions test.
Some schools use partial-selection or fair banding as part of their admission criteria. The Year 6 admissions test is designed to provide these schools with the data they need to make offer decisions. The test data is also useful to provide contextual information for Wandsworth primary schools.
Parents of children going into Year 6 must register by 11 September if they wish their child to take the Year 6 Admissions Test.
Your child will need to take the test if you are considering applying for a 2023 place at Ashcroft Technology Academy, Burntwood School, Chestnut Grove Academy or Graveney School.
Year 6 children in Wandsworth schools will no longer automatically sit the test, so if you want them to take it you must register.
You must also register if your child attends an independent school, a state primary school outside of Wandsworth or is educated at home.
Once you have registered you will be contacted by 23 September with details of where and when your child will take the test.
If your child has an EHCP, they do not have to take the test. If your child receives SEN support, you can view the test structure for more information.
If you are considering applying for a specialist aptitude place at a Wandsworth school, you will have to take the particular school's aptitude test as well as the Wandsworth Year 6 Test.
