Video footage has been released by police of a woman holding her small child being threatened at knifepoint in the kitchen of her home in Wandsworth.

The 22-year-old woman answered a knock on the door of her flat at 1.24pm on Tuesday, 15 November and two males forced their way in.

One of the males pushed her into the kitchen and drew a knife pointing it at her neck while she sought to protect her child. He demanded money but the pair are believed to have fled empty handed.

Although badly shaken, the woman and her child were not injured.

The person who branded the knife was wearing a Tesco branded top and his face is clearly visible in stills taken from the CCTV.

Detectives from the South West Command Unit are leading the hunt to find the pair.

"I urge local people to please check your doorbell and dash cam footage for any material that could assist us. If you were in the vicinity and saw two men acting suspiciously, or running away, we want to hear from you.

"The young woman was terrified and it is imperative that we catch the men responsible."
