After Port of London Authority raises red flag

Fast currents led to the PLA raising the red flag which has resulted in the 80th Women’s Eights Head of the River from Mortlake to Putney being cncelled this morning (7th March). A red flag indicates that PLA urges extreme caution and advises that man-powered vessels do not go afloat.

A spokesperson on the race website said: "We have no choice but to cancel the race. We are as disappointed as you are".
