Japonica Singers To Perform at St Mary's Church

Early evening concert is being held at St Mary’s Church Putney by the Japonica Singers on Saturday 27 November.

The programme will include Poulenc, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Japanese songs and more, directed by Mikiko Ridd.

The performance begins at 6pm and is expected to last for an hour with no interval.

Tickets are £5 per person and free for under 18s and can be bought online at Eventbrite.

Refreshments will be available to purchase before and after the concert at the Putney Pantry.

All attendees are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering, unless exempt.

Established in 2016 by Mikiko Ridd, Japonica Singers is a small, female choir which practices regularly in Putney, London. Singing a combination of western and Japanese choral arrangements, the group performed their first concert in 2018.

The name comes from the Chaenomeles japonica, which is the Japanese quince, a fruit which is said to be very good for the voice.
