The Putney-based 1885 Singers are making a return to live performance with a concert at Southward Cathedral.

It will be their first concert performing as a choir for two years and the conductor Alison Hunka has chosen music that reflects the difficulties we have all faced.

Intimations of Immortality is Gerald Finzi's setting of words by William Wordsworth.

The 1885 Singers say, “It is very elegantly beautiful; the only surprise is that it is not performed more often.”

They will also be performing Gabriel Faure's Requiem Mass.

The tenor soloist is former Putney resident Mark LeBrocq. the choir will be joined by baritone Marcus Farnesworth, and soprano Charlotte Moore.

The concert takes place on Saturday 13th November at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from TicketSource online or by phoning them on 0333 666 3366 (extra £1.80 charge).
