Historic Rugby Fixture Returns This Saturday

Rosslyn Park faces off against London Scottish for first time in 15 years

The sides first played each other in 1890

Rosslyn Park will host London Scottish at The Rock on Saturday 17 October for what will be the clubs’ first competitive London derby in 15 years.

Although only 6.7 miles apart, the sides have not met in a league fixture since 2010, giving this National One encounter an added sense of occasion for supporters on both sides of the river.

Rivalry has continued between the local rivals through meetings between amateur teams of the club but this match, kicking off at 3pm, marks the renewal of a long-standing London rugby rivalry within the third tier of the English game.

The first recorded match between London Scottish and Rosslyn Park took place on 8 March 1890, at Rosslyn Park's then-ground in Acton

Park is encouraging supporters, local residents, students and families to make an afternoon of it. Gates and bars open at midday, with pre-match hospitality available and food served by the Messy Burger van.

A matchday Kids Club for children aged 3–10 will run alongside the build-up, offering younger fans a chance to get involved before the action begins. With local pride at stake and the return of a fixture absent from the calendar for more than a decade, the club expects a lively crowd and a strong derby atmosphere.

The match will take place at Rosslyn Park FC, The Rock, Priory Lane, London SW15 5JH.

Tickets are available online.
