A mobile health clinic will be visiting Roehampton Playing Fields this weekend.

The event on Dover House Road (SW15 5BP) is on Sunday 5 June, 12-5pm during the Wandsworth Picnic in the Park Jubilee event.

Wandsworth Council is aiming to help residents remain healthy and well, by visiting locations around the borough over the coming weeks and months, with this mobile, pop-up health clinic.

Earlier the “Come and have a chat about your health bus” visited locations in Tooting and Queenstown Road where community health champions were on hand, to answer questions about your health, along with NHS staff.

Whether you are looking for general health advice, for you or your family, or more information about accessing local health and wellbeing services, help will be available.

Councillor Graeme Henderson, cabinet member for health said, “Our friendly team of council and NHS colleagues spoke to more than 50 people over two days, as well as checking blood pressure and vaccinating residents against COVID-19.

“The whole aim behind this drive is to make it easier and more convenient for Wandsworth residents to stay healthy and well – by bringing health services and advice to you.

“You may want to find out what support and help are available for a range of health conditions from diabetes to dementia. And if you are 40+, you may be feeling great, but the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, diabetes or dementia increases with age.

“We can help you check your health, as well as help you manage existing conditions. Finally, if you haven’t yet had the COVID-19 vaccine or the booster dose, you’ll be able to get the jab on the day.”

Council and NHS colleagues will be available to offer advice on a range of different areas including,

Tips to stay healthy and active, as well as managing your weight
Information about keeping your heart and brain healthy, including blood pressure checks
Help to stop smoking
Preventing and reducing your risk for several diseases, including diabetes, cancer and heart disease
Immunisations for you and your family
Information about the COVID-19 vaccines.
NHS staff will also be on hand to give you the COVID-19 vaccination if you haven’t yet had it, as well as the booster dose.

And if you have any questions or concerns about the vaccine, you can come along and have a chat about it, with no pressure to get the jab.
