The fourth annual Jo Cox Way bike ride in memory of the late MP will be passing through Putney and Roehampton on Sunday 28 July at the end of its five-day, 288-mile journey from her Batley & Spen constituency, in West Yorkshire.

The journey symbolises Jo's personal journey from her childhood in Yorkshire to representing her home constituency in parliament

The group of 50 mixed-ability riders will leave the Princess Mary Stadium, Cleckheaton, on Wednesday 24 July and wind its way through many towns and villages en route, with overnight stops in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Buckinghamshire and Middlesex.
Members of the public are invited to cheer on the cyclists at the start of each stage and there is an open invitation for anyone wishing to show their support to join the ride for part of a day as it passes through their region.

The final day’s 25.5-mile ride, starting at Brunel University, Uxbridge, Middlesex, passes through Yiewsley, West Drayton, Sipson, Longford, Cranford, Hounslow, Twickenham, Richmond-upon-Thames, Richmond Park, Roehampton, Putney Heath, Wandsworth, Battersea, Chelsea Bridge, Victoria, The Mall, Westminster, Westminster Bridge and Waterloo.

On their arrival at Flat Iron Square, Bankside at about 2pm, the cyclists will be greeted by members of community support groups, Jo’s family and the Mayor of Southwark.

“I am delighted that the Jo Cox Way is happening again,” said Jo’s sister, Kim Leadbeater. “Having taken part in the whole five-day adventure last year, I was hugely inspired by the amazing group of people who came together and undertook the journey from West Yorkshire to London. We had cyclists from many different backgrounds, aged between 14 and 70. The camaraderie was fantastic and those taking part found it a great way of combining a physical challenge with the opportunity to meet new people and, of course, to remember Jo and her belief that we have ‘more in common’."

The Jo Cox Foundation exists to build a positive legacy for the late Jo Cox MP. Its vision is a kinder, more compassionate society, where every individual has a sense of belonging and where we recognise that we have more in common than that which divides us. The Foundation works locally to foster strong communities in the UK, nationally to build a better public life and internationally to stand up for vulnerable people around the world.
