A tribute act to Creedence Clearwater Revival is set to appear at the Half Moon Putney next month, with the venue hosting Creedence Clearwater Review on Friday 3 July.
The band, which has been performing CCR material for a number of years, will play a set drawn from the American group’s late-1960s and early-1970s catalogue. Well-known songs such as Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising and Fortunate Son are expected to feature, alongside other tracks associated with the original band’s commercial peak.
Creedence Clearwater Review is one of several long-running tribute acts currently touring the UK, reflecting the continued popularity of CCR’s music more than five decades after the group disbanded. Their shows typically focus on recreating the arrangements and sound of the original recordings rather than offering reinterpretations.
The Half Moon, which has hosted a mixture of original artists and tribute acts for many years, continues to programme classic-rock themed nights as part of its regular schedule. The venue has become a familiar stop for touring tribute bands, particularly those drawing on 1960s and 1970s material.
The performance on 3 July forms part of the band’s wider tour, titled The Cosmos Factory Tour.
Tickets are available through the venue’s website.
