A second Jobs and Skills Fair for local jobseekers and businesses is to take place in Roehampton this month.

It is being held on Friday 11 November, from 1pm to 4pm, at Roehampton Leisure Centre, Laverstoke Gardens, SW15 4JB.

Fleur Anderson MP for Putney will host the event which aims to link up local people with new opportunities, give local businesses the chance to find new employees, and give confidence to jobseekers trying to find a new role. Jeremy Ambache, the Mayor of Wandsworth, will also be attending this event.

Employers attending include Battersea Power Station, University of Roehampton, Port of London Authority, the Metropolitan Police, Regenerate, The Feel Good Bakery, Work Match, Samuels Estates, Wandsworth & Putney Exchange Job Centre Plus and more.

Ms Anderson said, “Over 150 people attended last year’s Jobs Fair and many received job offers on the spot. Others went away feeling far more confident in knowing how to approach the jobs market. With the Cost-of-Living Crisis escalating, I know that job seeking and paying the bills are incredibly worrying for people across Roehampton, Southfields and Putney at the moment.

“This event provides a brilliant and really accessible opportunity for people to drop in, speak with local businesses and agencies like Work Match, who work to match up those looking for jobs with vacancies.”

People looking for work are encouraged to come along to get advice on their CV, meet potential employers and increase their confidence in approaching the jobs market.

The MP continued, “An enormous number of local businesses are searching for staff at the moment, and I know that there are just as many talented young people looking for work to fill those vacancies.

“You may have seen a flyer or leaflet already – please do book a free space online (see link below) but do also feel free to turn up and drop in on the day. Please share this event with anyone you know who may be looking for a job.”
