Police in Putney believe they have prevented a possible burglary after detaining three men dressed in ‘high-viz’ jackets.

Last Friday (14 July), they received a report of the group acting suspiciously.

The men were detained and, on further questioning it became clear that the gang were not workmen. Police believe they were using the jackets as cover to plan a burglary or a robbery.

The previous day, local police reported that a local Police Community Support Officer help capture two males who had been wanted for several weeks for various theft related offences.

PSCO Creti, who works with the Thamesfield Safer Neighbourhoods team was out shopping on her day off when she spotted the suspects. She called it in and her on duty colleagues came and made the arrest.
