Third Teenager Charged in Connection with Roehampton Murder


Trio remanded in custody after the killing of 24-year-old man

A 17-year-old male has appeared in custory at Bromley Magistrates’ Court this Monday, 17 May charged with the murder of Abdirizak Hassan after being arrested the previous Saturday.

He is the third teenager to be charged in connection with the killing that too place in Roehampton earlier this month. A 15-year-old male was arrested on Thursday, 13 May and a 17-year-old male was arrested on Friday, 14 May. They appeared at Wimbledon Youth Court on Saturday, 15 May charged with murder and were remanded to appear at the Central Criminal Court on Wednesday, 19 May.

The police were called to Dowdeswell Close at around 11:05am on Thursday, 6 May after a report of body having been found at a property

They found 24-year-old Abdirizak Hassan dead from stab injuries.

A post-mortem examination took place at St George’s Hospital Mortuary on Saturday, 8 May and gave cause of death as a stab injury.

The investigation into the circumstances by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continues. They had previous made an appeal stating that they believed more than one person had been involved in the attack.
