The screenings, which have been organised by Putney BID, will be up on Friday 14, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July.

It will be free to attend but you will need to book a ticket so that numbers can be managed. Food and drinks will also be available from some well known Putney establishments.

Movie mornings start each day at 9:30 am with titles aimed at younger audiences including Monsters Inc, Secret Life of Pets, and a lively Frozen sing-along. At 8 pm, King Richard, Mamma Mia and Top Gun will be showing on the big screen.

In between our movie screenings, they will be showing the Wimbledon tennis finals weekend.

There will be deckchairs and bean bags available to sit on, but numbers are limited so it is recommended to bring a blanket or a camping chair. There will be an allocated buggy parking area, only sleeping babies will be able to stay in buggies within the seating area.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We've always done that and won't be changing, in fact we'd like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

We are therefore asking our readers to consider offering financial support to these efforts. Any money given will help support community and public interest news and the expansion of our coverage in this area.
