Mr Carter'I hope it's clear that I have absolutely no sympathy for Nidal Hussain, ("that's good to know bearing in mind your usual and open political inclination in Middle Eastern politics") but showing publicly his execution is not only vile (just for a moment, think what it'll look like when a man in a wheelchair is shot to death). ("It will look like the actions of Mohammed Emwazi, commonly referred to as Jihadi John, a British militant of Kuwaiti origin seen in several videos produced by the Islamist extremist group Islamic State showing the beheadings of a number of captives in 2014 and 2015. A group of his hostages nicknamed him "John" since he was part of a four-person terrorist cell with English accents whom they called 'The Beatles'; the press later began calling him "Jihadi John".")but, as Matthew Syed powerfully argues in the Times today, it is stupid because the one thing that people like Hussain craves is publicity:'He might like the publicity but it is purely 15 minutes of public fame then he will be totally forgotten as he shares a happy after life in the arms of 70 virgins. Will his action encourage other extreme Islamic killers ?Not really the point as their religion and their extremist leaders do this publicly in any case.Read the Hamas Charter. And look at the misogynistic domestic violence being encouraged by Islamic 'preachers' in our country.https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-16199187/Exposed-British-imams-telling-men-beat-wives-say-NO-sex-police-ministers-failing-crack-them.html"Sitting before his many followers, a preacher dressed in white urges the men to hit their wives if they refuse to be ‘called to bed for intimacy’.Clasping his hands, he beseeches husbands never to tolerate disobedience, and to ‘discipline them physically... lightly hitting them to show them who is in charge’.Depressingly, we are in modern Britain and the cleric’s words are only too real. His name is Yasin Munye from The Hackney (where else) Islamic Community Centre, a religious CHARITY in east London. Depressingly, we are in modern Britain and the cleric’s words are only too real. Referring to scriptures, and making clear what he believes are grounds for domestic violence, Munye cites ‘disobeying the husband when it comes to calling her to bed".What is our country becoming ?

Your post, Richard, demonstrates that you follow a faith as devoutly as the adherents of those religions whose 'imaginary gods' you mock. Your faith, to which Jonathan also subscribes, though he expresses himself in more moderate terms, is the religion of woke. This religion regards anti-racism as the most important virtue. It's chief commandment is 'Thou shalt not speak ill of any group who threaten Britain or seek to undermine British values'. Anyone who does speak up is immediately castigated as 'bigoted' and 'ignorant'.Since 2000 Islamists have carried out 12 major terrorist attacks in Britain, killing 90 people and injuring almost 2000 others. Since 2017 the security services and the police have foiled 18 Islamist terror plots which could have resulted in serious loss of life. The Islamists responsible for these crimes are a tiny minority of the 4 million Muslim population of Britain, the vast majority of whom are law-abiding. But behind the terrorists there are a significant number of Muslims who, though they would not commit acts of violence themselves, support or justify those who do. Poll data, for example, showed that around 6% of British Muslims, around a quarter of a million people, expressed some level of support for the London Tube bombings of 2005. What is your reaction to these shocking facts? You point out that Christians, Hindus and Buddhists are just as bad. So what? All these religious groups may have chequered histories but they are not attacking us now. I can imagine that if you were ever caught up in a terrorist incident, you would be saying to your companions, ' Remember what the Christians did in the crusades'.

Wokism is in fact often a form of treachery disguised as concern and respect for others who in turn rarely reciprocate.

Jonathan, I was principally replying to Richard’s accusation that those who single out Islam as the source of terrorism are guilty of ‘bigotry’ and ‘ignorance’ (his words).I was careful to point out that your own contributions on this topic have been expressed in rather more moderate terms. Nevertheless I think that you share Richard’s somewhat indulgent view. For example, you recently condemned the vote at the Green Party Conference which equates Zionism to racism. Yet the Henry Jackson poll of 2024 suggests that only one in four British Muslims believes that Israel has a right to exist. In other words around 3 million Muslims in this country hold views similar to those of the Green Party. Surely that should give cause for concern. Yet your contribution to the debate was to emphasise that it is wrong to stereotype Islam, mentioning that you had an interesting conversation with enlightened members of the Ahmadiyya community outside Putney Station. Aside from the fact that this community are regarded as apostates by orthodox Muslims, what is your point? That not all Muslims are wicked? I don’t need to be told that. My partner is of Muslim Indian heritage and her family are absolutely charming. But the fact that there are many enlightened Muslims in this country does not alter the fact that many others hold unacceptable views.Of course you may say that plenty of groups in British society hold unattractive opinions. This is true. But other groups on the whole don’t produce individuals who take bombs onto the Tube or carry out attacks on pop concerts. About 75% of the work of the security services is taken up with foiling Islamist terror plots. My question is why liberals in this country feel the need to gloss over the extent of antisemitism in the Muslim community. I would attribute this to a woke viewpoint, which can sometimes take the form of a secular religion. Its central tenet is that ethnic and religious minorities, except the Jews, by reason of having suffered discrimination from mainstream society, deserve privileged treatment which makes them immune from criticism even when they hold views and act in ways inimical to British values.

Mr Carter'I don’t normally respond to – rarely even read – your endlessly dreary and repetitive stuff, but here’s something that really does require a correction'. You never respond.Childlike sniping rather than debate is your forte. For instance I am still awaiting a reply from my query to you below.Topic: Re:Re:Re:Reply Forum HomePosted by: John HawkesDate/Time: 12/10/26 11:17:00My comments might be dreary to some/many/most/you but my excuse for repetition is caused by an overwhelming belief that Israel should survive Islamic aggression.Once it falls then the West including the UK is in danger of following it.But this time you have responded - well done !'No, it didn’t slip my mind, because the list was of atrocities committed by extremists in RELIGIOUS not racial groups, and the Nazis were not religious extremists. So triumphant at apparently catching me out in a careless error, yet it’s you who ends up looking the complete fool. Do try to keep up..'"Calm down dear; calm down".And thank you for the pedantic correction.Must be a consolation to relatives of 6,000,000 Jews killed in the German genocide of WWII, that none of such Germans  according to you were harbouring any malice towards the Jews based on a religious belief. They were just out and out racists.Genocide in the proper sense of the term and not as used by you when condemning the deaths of Palestinians by Israelis who are defending themselves from yet more genocidal attacks today. Are these Islamic terrorists a RELIGIOUS or a racial group ?Is Islam a religion or a political philosophy of a particular race ?Why are Muslims responsible for so much killing ?Why do Islam's Hamas adherents follow a Charter seeking the annihilation of Israel and its Jewish citizens ?It's you that is not 'keeping up' as you seek to hide by self regarding clever-clever obfuscation your support for those wishing genocide upon the people of a nation that is the only beacon of civilisation in the cess pit of surrounding Muslim Middle Eastern states.
