Have You Ever Had the Wrong Idea About Something?

I only found out fairly recently that Brentford wasn’t on the other side of northwest London, but was actually close by near to Kew. I wondered if anyone else had had a long held belief about something, only to find out that they were wrong?  
Please can we keep this lighthearted.

People do confuse Brentford with Brentwood.  Similar to Clapham and Clapton.  I must admit l have to double check exactly where they mean when people say Hayes.Probably all down to these damn Saxons!

Brentford is over Kew Bridge to the left. I used to drink at the Greyhound Pub in the 70s and 80s, by Kew Bridge. You ho past Brentford to get to Hounslow.
