Upper Richmond Road stabbing

We've just been notified by our managing agent that the police are currently dealing with a stabbing incident outside our main gates. Never had one of these in the 20 years I've lived here (our building is  between the Old Burial Ground and Sainsbury's.)

Agree, women are probably more worried when something like this happens, especially when your getting older and cannot run or get out of the way quickly. Also walking about late in the dark, a lot wouldn't go out late at night on their own now, even though you can get a cab, oh no we have to be careful who is driving a cab, they might have other intentions.

I find it hard to believe that (some) men on this forum treat a violent event on a busy Putney street so lightly. Who said anything about Wednesday's event being a 'domestic'? Not that that makes it anymore acceptable. The men involved knew each other but brandishing a knife in public is illegal I believe. 'The rest of Putney' has a right to be concerned.

It is extremely concerning that someone is wondering around a busy street in the middle of the afternoon with a knife they are prepared to use.

You need to be more positive Robert (as you are always telling me) - the fact that it happened near a doctors surgery is surely a good thing?

This is shocking that an attempted murder happened yards away from a local doctors surgery and supermarket.  Our environment and London has changed and not for the better.

Absolutely right Lucille. I walk along there to the High St. I was on the bus coming back when the police were already there and the stabbing had happened. what if I, or anyone else, had witnessed it. when I managed to get off the bus and walk home I assumed someone had been knocked down on URR, I didn't ask the policeman what had happened, and he didn't tellme.

The fact that the individual(s) were using a dangerous weapon in a busy public thoroughfare should be of concern to law abiding citizens. There is a busy bus stop at the entrance of the Old Burial Ground and it was fortunate that nobody else got hurt. If you can't understand that, I can't help you Mr Gulliford.

Whilst this is very sad to hear and not nice thing to happen so close to us all.The individuals involved were all known to one another. No one outside the group was hurt or targeted.
