Burnham’s Cost Of Living Great Giveaway

I am thinking hard about what to do with my £3.75 monthly cut on my energy bill.   Shall I treat myself to a Starbucks coffee or should I be prudent and invest it?   No rush to make a decision because it isn’t kicking in until October.   Is there an accountant on here to advise me please?

Why Starbucks?  There are plenty of local coffee shops that are much more deserving.  I refuse to buy my coffee from a multinational that pays less tax in the UK than I do.

The VAT cut has been paraded by the government  as ‘fully funded’. The money is supposed to come from abandoning Labour’s digital ID programme. But this programme was never funded in the first place. In other words it is an unfunded  spending commitment. The move has been criticised by Darren Jones, the former Chief Secretary to the Treasury, and by the former head of the institute for Fiscal Studies.

SueIts not £3.75 a month. Its half that as its only for the period Oct to April. ( the £45 usual political con language if it were a full year).They can't help themselves.
