Why do they always seem to hold these consultations during the summer? Hmmm....The boss of Heathrow was on the radio this morning, making the case for expansion and dismissing previous statements by Andy Burnham about why it was a bad idea. I think he is being optimistic - the new PM just put Andy Slaughter, an inveterate opponent of Heathrow in a ministerial role. Not something he would have done if he was about to make an announcement that would result in his resignation.
