UK agrees new £660 million deal with France to tackle migrant crossings.A new deal with France aimed at reducing the number of small boat crossings has been signed by the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood.The deal, which pays France to patrol its beaches and stop migrant crossings, will see an expansion of law enforcement deployed across Northern France.In exchange, the UK will pay France £500 million, with a further £160 million contingent on results.The home secretary said migrant crossings are a "problem shared between the UK and France" and the new deal is part of efforts to "try everything we can to drive down numbers."Under the deal, which will be in place until March 2029, the UK will give £501 million to cover five police units and enforcement activity on French beaches – with an extra £160 million only paid if new tactics to curb Channel crossings succeed.https://share.google/QrIALBQpMBSbrxa7EAnother 1/2 £Billion+ about to be wasted!😡
