That's interesting, Sue. I was intrigued why there would no penalty and whether there was something we're unaware of. Glad that was one of their options, knowing an ex tax inspector, I can't think shed have been given special treatment ... but otherwise, tax isn't something I know much about.I was wondering if the advice to seek advice was given orally and therefore open to interpretation; in that case I suppose Rayner might not be careless and, depending on how the advice was phrased, could there have been a professional liability on someone's part? Who knows if there's been any settlement and an NDA required by an indemnity insurer? That's pure speculation and my imagination working overtime. So I may be completely wrongOne of my ex-colleages is a tax expert - I guess his company is a competitor of that one. Sadly, people try and avoid him in the pub; well, after a lecture about tax law over a pint or two, one just wants to bring a bottle of scotch - or two :-) (Perhaps that was Angela's problem?) Still, maybe people were careless not staying to listen to him!
