Meat dumped on Putney Heath
Walking my dogs on Putney Heath this morning found a large amount of raw meat dumped by the frying pan. This is not the first time it has been dumped here and obviously comes from a shop and is being dumped over night. Along with the flesh there is offal, bits of sharp bone, cling film and plastic bloody bags. This is obviously unacceptable and disgusting. As dog walkers we are used to wrestling rubbish away from our dogs. This becomes more of a problem during the summer, when people discard their picnic or take out waste onto the grass even though there are many bins within reach. Also a common problem is dogs rolling in fox poo, which is only to be expected. I don’t expect however to have to be watching out for human excrement which is also a problem. We are lucky to have so much green space well used by everyone but being ruined by a few. This behaviour is irresponsible, disgusting and ignorant.
