Here's some real science ...

Heres something of interest to Sue Hammond and Mike Ixer in particular! Pretty sure the chances are it’ll land buttered side down. Unless of course, you use Kerrygold, straight out of God’s own county, in which case it’ll gently glide down for a soft landing; buttered side facing Heaven. Sadly, Kerrygold is not available in M&S, just their own brand of muck, which will definitely land face down in the ditch…….Sainsburys and Waitrose are your men for the job! G’wan out and do yourselves a favour!

"Next project is for someone to work out if it's statistically true that toast lands more frequently on the buttered side (or alternative vegan spread side) ..."Would the spread (whether the life-enhancing kind or the other deadly sort) make the side with the spread heavier and would that affect the odds?Or perhaps the spread surface would have altered aerodynamics? Using flush rivets on the wings of Spitfires cut down drag and increased speed, I believe.

HalloI really do think that most people knowing about cats, realise that they turn over in their falls, so they actually land on their feet.  not nice, but if somebody finds a cat and takes it to a vet, then life saved.
