Friends want to stay really local to us and the High St. It's either MK or Putney Hotel. Anyone have recent experience of either? It's for 2 adults and an 18 year old son. Many thanks

Thanks all. Think I'll have to try to go and look at rooms. Trouble is they stayed at Premier Inn last time and hated it. Room was dreadful. They won't even consider it again. Friend did stay at MK about 4 years ago, and thought it good. They don't want Lodge hotel as really wanted to be as near to High ST as possible. Don't know anyone who's stayed in Putney Hotel, so will endeavour to check out a room or two. Reviews don't sound that good though. Thanks all.

I haven't stayed at the Putney Premier Inn but friends have and found it satisfactory. I've stayed at a number of Premier Inns around the UK and facilities are good and consistent (although obviously not 5*), and staff have been helpful and friendly. Prices have crept up over the last 2-3 years but that probably reflects increased cost over the whole hospitality industry. I also know a number of businesses and other organisations use Premier Inns

Victoria, why don’t you call in at the hotels and ask to look at a room? I did look round the Lodge Hotel and thought it was nice, but we didn’t use it in the end. We like Premier Inns, but I don’t know what the local ones are like.

What about the Lodge Hotel just past East Putney tube station, on the opposite side of the road.

My mum has stayed at Premier Inn for a fair few days at a time in the last year (2-3 times a month for 12 months) and has always found it absolutely fine. Yes it's not the most luxurious hotel but it can be quite cheap and as people have said you can either take the tube or hop on the bus.

Victoria, you also have Premier Inn over Putney Bridge, if their only staying a short time. Also the station is nearby.

Just look at reviews on Booking.com. Putney Hotel doesn't do well.
