This morning in Richmond......

Last year several homes were burgled that were in the “Ted Lasso” part of Richmond.  The jewellers that were robbed yesterday were in “Ted Lasso” street.  
I think filming the series in Richmond has probably brought in lots of fans, but also the wrong people?

Suppose you can look at it both ways. They wouldn't have so much attention if they had walked in the shop. They had great difficulty removing the window. It could have been laminated  glass. Used to work in Felsham rd, years ago in the 70s, Johnson Baker, Jewellery Shop fitters. Nothing to do with this subject, but Mr.G.Johnsons parents were killed on the Titanic. He was brought up by his grandparents, he lived in a mansion in Shiremark, Capel, Surrey. Also a shopfitting in Shaftesbury, which I believe is still there.

The video I watched, took them a while to get the glass off of one of the windows as it must have a form of plastic in it as they twisted the glass off. Also why didn't they just walk in the shop, unless they have the door locked, unless a customer wants something.

I have just watched it on facebook, also other people were standing watching. Looked like the masked raiders ran off to Richmond Green.

Embarrassing. I know that it is only expensive jewellery and so not worth risking one's own safety, but, even so ...I guess that, even if I thought that I really should do something, it was all be over by the time I had worked out what action that should be. In tranquility now I think that trying to grab their bag would be possible and disruptive.

I agree, Martine, unbelievable!!According to one of the comments posted, this is the third audacious robbery in a week against jewellers in Richmond.We arrived in Richmond at about 11:30, parked by the Green and started walking along this pedestrian road until we saw it cordoned off and the shop window on the pavement.  We had not idea it had happened at 10:30am!!!  I suppose these pieces of excrement rely on people not reacting and the absence of police presence....  The police station used to be round the corner......
