Strange phone calls

2nd call I have have had in a couple of weeks, 1st a man the today a woman. But really AI, wanting to give me information on Iran, has anybody else had the calls, so polite and the voice so accurate you know it's a computer. Obviously going to ask for money. But the call did not get that far.

Scammers are, unfortunately, targeting landline phone numbers quite hard. They know that it's mostly over 50's who keep their landline numbers, and are happily working their way through phone books. It's hard not to pick up your landline. It was suggested, if you don't know the number, not to say Hello, or Yes. Yep, What, or something along those lines. You can always explain afterwards if it is someone you know....Putney society is having a public meeting on 23rd Feb, with a talk by a senior Met police officer in the Cyber Crime unit. There will be info on scams and frauds on a local level too, I hope. Worth coming to I think.

No, I don't answer calls from unidentified callers, unless it's been arranged in advance (for example,  call from a hospital or doctor).
