Another U-Turn On The Way

Rache from Complaints has been doing her sums again🙄and has apparently found a different way to calculate business rates but only for pubs (atm ) but it looks good for them and will hopefully stop the impending closure of those in rural areas.   Kemi Badenoch has been lobbying for this along with many rebel Labour MPs who threatened not to vote with the Government.   Now Rache needs to look at the rest of the hospitality sector that are also being taxed out of business.

Ms Bond'More attention should also be made to making pubs more accessible and updating them to deal with the climate'.I assume you mean the somewhat unsavoury gaseous odours that can emerge from various orifices of heavy drinkers ?

There was an interesting radio prog this morning on desi pubs.  I guess just as in the way so many Italian businesses were successful here at one time they rely a lot of family connections for staffing - which is a lot of the problem.https://foodism.co.uk/features/long-reads/desi-pubs/

Alcohol should be much more expensive in supermarkets as it encourages a lot of closet drinking which isn't as good for everyone as going out to the pub for some conversation and a pint.  More attention should also be made to making pubs more accessible and updating them to deal with the climate.
