Monkey Christ

I’m sorry to hear that Cecilia Giménez has died. Her name might not meant much, but I am sure you’ll remember her as the artist behind the fresco restoration in Spain known as “Beast Jesus” or ‘monkey-Christ’. Shine on Cecilia, you held a bright candle!

Had to Google her name: I do remember her restoration attempts bring in the news a while back, but not her name. Poor artist but apparently made lots of money for her town by putting it on the tourists' itinerary!Fortunately the original fresco doesn't seem to have been a masterpiece ...

Never heard of her.  Having just googled I can say she was a lousy artist.  That’s all.
