Heads Up; Black Ice.

Just a little warning to anyone venturing out today, the black ice on the pavements is pretty treacherous, I have seen a few people come crashing down. There seems to be next to no grit on the side streets, don't know about the High Street. Hopefully, the Council are getting a grip on the grit asap!

When I went out lunchtime there was a man with a trolly throwing grit outside the bus garage on the pavement. But it didn't seem slippery anyway to me.

Happy New Year to you too, Jonathan. Hopefully, the cold spell will give you a good excuse to keep the Hootenanny celebrations going; a few hot whiskies wouldn't go amiss either.As ever, we live in hope that WBC will get the gritters out soon.

Happy New Year from Edinburgh!  Cold here too but most pavements have already been de-iced. No doubt WBC will get round to it eventually. The council up here is notoriously inefficient but at least they are able to read weather forecasts!
