That was a good guess it was a database parameter change (permissions) that caused the problem.  Good to see the CEO giving a detailed explanation, even if some of it is unintelligible without knowing the product!

There was a report on Reddit it had taken the downdetector site offline, although I seemed to have access to it in the UK :-)

They provide a number of network and security services for companies using the Internet. I know them best for a service they have to mitigate Distributed Denial of Service attacks. Nothing to worry about - possible a bad software update of parameter change, just annoying if one's trying to use a site they provide services to.

Cloudflare seem to be issuing regular updates and looks like things are returning to normal - slowly? The updates aren't that meaningful without knowing details of their network and don't seem to say what the problem was.Cloudflare Status https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/

The latest from the Cloudflare Status site, although earlier they did say their were signs of service recovery:Update - We are continuing to investigate this issue.
