Train Stabbing

When is this madness going to stop, it just goes on and on. Now Security checking everybody for knives etc. can't see that happening.  Also what about the continual fires in homes and buildings, never heard of so many.

Whilst the police response to the train incident was quick.You will now see that the suspect Anthony Williams was reported on three separate occasions in the run up to the attack. Including slashing a 14 year old boy the night before! As well as wielding a knife in a barber shop. Surely anyone making threats with a knife should be made absolute priority to get detained!!!!

Whatever you Google you will get everything on that particular subject sent to your machine whether it is new or old, nearby or far away or whether a real event or a fictional one so not exactly always what you were looking for.  So if you Google something less disturbing and mundane such as good news or shoes or paeonies rather than all the bad news you might see the world in a better light.Better news might be that aid is finally getting through to Jamaica who have suffered the worst hurricane ever recorded there.

The Caldicot incident is one of a family dog tragically attacking and killing a 9 month old baby.When will people learn about the dangers faced by young children in this environment.

There has been stabbing in Surbiton, also an attack by Exeter Station, but because some people don't want to believe it that is why it continues. How can Richard have statistics when there happening all the time. What about the young lady who pushed a man onto the railway at Worcester Park there looking for. Whether it is a stabbing or assault it can still kill somebody. What about the elderly man just walking his dog in the park and the youngsters killed and battered him. What about women and young girls being raped, does this not cause them distress for the rest of their lives scared to go out. Until it happens to you or a relation Richard couldn't careless. Statistics statistics.

Still exceedingly high Richard.  I am not too sure the poor souls who were on this train and witnessed this attack feel comforted by your stats. .Again well done our emergency services in their handling and reporting of this appalling crime and of course the train driver who dealt with the situation efficiently.

Violent crime is not, as some suggest, spiralling out of control. In fact, official statistics show that yhe long-term trend in violence with or without injury has been in significant decline since 1995.And the knife crime figures are not out of control either: there was a fall in 2029/21, obviously as a result of the covid lockdowns, and although it has increased since then, it's still significantly below the 2019/20 level. Awful though the Huntingdon attack was - and of course it was terrible - please try to keep a sense of persoective on this.

Well thank goodness this isn't the US where there is the gun lobby who insist on their rights to carry guns and where there are so many problems with shootings in schools.  The lack of controls there is what many other people think is a disgrace.

Oh dear philippa, I think we need to know what happens in England. Because if we are sitting comfortably on train or anywhere for that matter, we need to keep alert as our country is a disgrace.

Yes it is terrible - but we never used to have so much constantly updated news - or all the algorithms which gather and send them to our phones and computers - so we just didn't hear/read so much about them.We all need to remember that it is bad news that sells newspapers - so they will keep on updating on the same stories which exacerbates the problem while you don't get anything like as much good news in the news/papers.

Very shocking news with 10 people hospitalized and 9 seriously, believed to have life-threatening injuries.Thoughts and prayers with the injured and their families.
