Wandsworth Prison - Continued Concerns

The recent article in Putney News about two two prisoners who died within weeks at Wandsworth Prison helps to underline continued concerns about conditions in the prison although a new governor has affected changes to make it cleaner - rubbish and rats are no longer to be seen as was the case previously. Yet, the prison clearly is not fit for purpose and at a recent Wandsworth Prison Progress Group meeting that I attended the conditions in the prison were described as 'inhuman' by a representative from a local prison monitoring platform. Exactly.The same outcomes if it had happened in a pub a supermarket, on the street.

Reading the report looks like both would probably had suffered the same fate had they been free.
