Wise advice on vaccinating your children?

(https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002jsq0), starting at 21:25.If you heard a man down at the pub spouting this garbage after a few pints, you'd be inclined to call for the people in white coats to take him away. But it wasn't a man at he pub, it was Donald Trump, backed up by that wingnut Robert F Kennedy. Really, you have to wonder at the mental capacity of the man - and he's in charge of the militarily most powerful country in the world!

Again as with everything you have your extremists.Vaccinations are 100% safe vs vaccinations cause side effects.The problem is both sides over simplify the reality - as with everything there are risks.Parents need to make an informed decision based of the risks.If something goes wrong then the state need to recognise it and act responsibly quickly.All my kids have been vaccinated and I have had the Astra Zeneca covid shot twice even after the EU halted it with concerns. The UK oddly at the same time halted it due to some other excuse but it turns out they were not monitoring the side effects closely.Being over 50 I was in a low risk group for side effects and hence I made my decision based on the publicly available evidence. Was all the available evidence in the public domain? That seems less certain.Again it's one of those issues where transparency matters so individuals can make the appropriate decisions, not extremists spounting one way or the other.Personally I like to see the TB vaccine more widely available.

Hello Richard,I did not know that Trump and Kennedy were qualified professionals in the medical field....  Grrr!It is really mind boggling and insulting that they are reeling out all this information but providing no evidence  of what they are saying.It is, as far as I am concerned, poppycock, but very dangerous poppycock.

Trump said fragile babies were being pumped full of liquid like they were "horses" and that combination vaccines were harmful.He also said the MMR vaccine should be given in single doses rather than a combined shot, and that he had heard a lot of bad things about it over the years.He also ramble-waffled on paracetamol and its link to autism.

I may have mis heard the beeb report but I thought he was objecting to the combined vaccinations like MMR and saying that they should be 3 separate jabs.Could be wrong here but madness anyway

So Trump says: "Nothing bad can happen, it can only good happen. But with Tylenol, don't take it." Hmmm? Every medical professional I have heard speak in the last 24 hours says that plenty of bad things can happen if a pregnant women does not take paracetamol when it is required, and that there is no link to autism and paracetamol use when taken responsibly. I wonder what the hell is going on?Apropos of nothing, when is Trump going to release the Epstein files?

I must admit I hadn't heard about the conspiracy theory linking paracetamol to autism until a day ago. At the UN he seems to be repeating his claiming that climate change is a hoax, among other things in his usual rambling rant (must admit I've only seem bits of it). Still, at least at Charlie Kirk's funeral he was honest about hating his opponents; doesn't that disqualify him from being a Christian?Still Jimmy Kimmel's going back on air; I guess those cancelled subscriptions and complaints from other stars must be hurting Disney …

Barbara, the issue over pregnant wonen not taking tylenol/paracetamol was a separate one (also deranged) but this was specifically about vaccinations. And of course you're right that the effect of cutting them will have a disastrous effect in bringing back all those awful childhood illnesses that had been virtually abolished.

Well, I thought it was about pregnant women taking paracetamol. Not giving it to the baby directly. Stopping babies having injections surely would stop all the old problems coming back into the country,diptheria, whooping cough measel etc also polio.
