Minister of Investment

As a LinkedIn contact of mine pointed out, with all the distractions and inter-party bitching about Rayner and Mandelson, it's gone unnoticed that the the Minister of Investment, Poppy Gustafsson, has resigned. Given this appears to be dissatisfaction with the government's action, or more accurately, lack of it, perhaps it should have more visibility?https://www.politico.eu/article/uk-investment-minister-quits/

Yes, Mr Hawkes. So what? They vary from close friends from my and my wife's university days, some ex-colleagues and various people we've met over the years plus a few cousins, to somewhat rather tenuous connections from attending business trade shows - you seem mystified, if not a little bit jealous of .y friends and contacts? :-)I'm sure my Mandelson has many more contacts than me - and rich, influential ones at that :-)

Until we get more transparency I'm not even sure voter reform will make a difference. It all seems to be coming apart at the seams for this government. Where is economic growth going to come from? If the Minister of Investment is throwing in the towel a few weeks the government makes a pitch to investors from around the world, what kind of message does that send out?Exactly, a very depressing one.I don't know, this country seems banjaxed. I suppose my question is, who could begin to deal with it? I don't see anyone up to the task.At this stage, I would be delighted if all this government achieved was voter reform, at least we would begin to move past this type of broken politics. It would force parties and politicians to work together in a more sophisticated and effective manner.Depressing stuff indeed!
