Rolling Stones

from an auction this month - Putney was part of their first tour in 1963Rock & roll legends The Rolling Stones (!) three annotated accountancy paperwork sheets relating to their first tour, booking documents, etc, from 1962 on headed paper with type printed and pen ink handwritten annotations of the time. Relating to performance venues, commissions and costs, these include references to a BBC pilot TV show '6/12/1963... ODEON ROMFORD 7/12/63...FAIRFIELD HALL CROYDON 19/12/1963... 22/12/1963 ST MARY'S HALL, PUTNEY...FRIDAY 27TH DECEMBER READY STEADY GO, A.R./TV...WEDNESDAY 1ST JANUARY 1964 'BBC TOP OF THE POPS', 33cm length, 20cm width. Thanks, Adam. I knew the Stones had played in Putney in their early days before I went to concerts (or lived in Putney!),  but I always had it in my mind the venue was the Half Moon for some reason.  I might have just imagined it because that was a well known venue!

Thanks Adam for this little bit of local history.  It’s interesting to know St Mary’s Hall was a music venue, as was Hotham Hall too, I think?
