Viera Grey House

Very sorry to read about the incident on the front page.  I thought when we were using the care system that Viera Grey were by far the best care home we used.

The question was on the long time lapse.  The article I quoted shows how the time lapse happens.  I deliberately didn't mention more on this particularly sad  and very painful subject here on the world wide web.

Nothing to do with a fire. It was about another patient stamping on another resident .

As you will see from this article the problems have not only been the amount of time between a death or deaths and the inquests but also about the actions taken or not taken following the Coroner's Report.  Hopefully this has now changed. Unfortunately inquests can take several years.Very distressing for the families. "BBC analysis of Ministry of Justice figures found that the number of families in England and Wales waiting for an inquest for more than two years has more than tripled since 2018."

Neil the man who died, actually died in August 2020. So i wonder why it has only come to light now.

I yet again have to say what a great loss to the local community was Barnes Hospital.  It was a specialist hospital for older people with psychiatric problems and it provided respite care. They need proper assessment and treatment before being placed into a carehome.

We used it for respite on about 2 occasions and I thought it very impressive.  Unfortunately, we were told we couldn’t use it anymore and I think it was because it became too expensive for Wandsworth Council.   The best care homes, imo, are in Richmond.  Different league to those in Wandsworth.
