This would not be Farage's first.  Did Nigel Farage not apply for a German passport shortly after the 2016 referendum?He who vilified the EU so much is so pleased and boasting that his children have German and British passports, allowing them to benefit from the free movement rights post Brexit....Despicable man!

She also resigned as deputy leader.I think Dan Neidle take on this has been on the money.He's had to rebut accusations of criminality on both sides, whilst arguing for simplification and reform.

You really have to stop reading The Mirror Richard!  What Farage has done is within HMRCs rules what Rayner did was not.Let’s face it as someone else said the standard of all our politicians from Labour/Conservative/Reform/Liberal/Greens are absolutely awful.  Labour are all dogma, Conservative are currently lost, Reform know the issues that concern the majority of the public,  Liberal and Greens are fence sitters which will get us know where.  This is why many on the forum didn’t vote or didn’t know which way to vote.

Labour definitely didn’t get my vote last time; more for local matters than national ones.Very unlikely to get my vote next time, unless tactical voting is at play. The sooner proportional representation is brought in and a semblance of a representative  parliament is possible, the better.

Well since so many people are now disavowing support for Labour, that means they must have voted for the Lib Dems or the Greens, parties which primarily exist for the benefit of middle class voters who fear that Labour might tax their wealth but who  would be ashamed to vote for the wicked Tories, Reform being utterly beyond the pale of course.

Knowing she was in the wrong she should have gone last week.Imagine how all those colleagues feel having spent a week saying nothing to see here, and Angela's a diamond who has done nothing wrong.They must feel that they have been used.

It is not illegal to reduce your tax bill legally however as Rayner has found out it is wrong to go against HMRCs clearly stated rules.  If you don’t understand them get an accountancy firm to do your tax returns.It makes sense to use a private company probably an accountancy firm because if they get it wrong you can sue them!  Clearly Richard you have never been self employed.

Hello Sue,It was inevitable that she would go.What I really do not understand is how the Mail on Sunday and the Sun on Sunday on 24 August 2025 knew about the purchase of this flat in May 2025.I also find it baffling as to how the Telegraph reported on 28 August 2025 that she had saved £40,000 in stamp duty.  What I am saying is how did they get this information. I know there are investigative journalists but it puzzles me, is this information available freely or through FOI requests?On another matter altogehter, I would also like to know what happened to the contract for over £200m to PPE Medpro from which Baroness Michelle Moone benefited with £29m from profits but other sums which were transferred to secret offshore accounts from which she and her children benefitted.  Hmmmmmhttps://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm5803/cmselect/cmpubacc/1590/report.html

The report finds she was open about the Trust, received information, twice, that the lower rate of tax would be applicable, but did not follow the qualification that further expert advice should be obtained.Obviously, she has fallen short of the highest possible standards, but to go as far as suggest she is a crook or a criminal is quite an over-reach!

It sounds as if parliamentary standards process is functioning well and is fit for purpose. No long drawn out investigations, leading to reports that are ignored etc.The chaos and disregard for standards on show during Johnson’s time as PM seem like a nightmare  from the past.Good stuff for Parliament and all of us!
