House for Sale in Putney Attracts the Interest of MailOnline

A partially renovated house in Redgrave Rd which is up for sale has attracted the interest of MailOnline: ”Seemingly normal London house listing sparks warning from house hunters — but can you spot why?” From what I can gather, it’s because the estate agents have used AI images to show how the house could look when completely renovated.

That’s hilarious that buyers missed the humungous waste recycling centre, painted bright red and right beside them. They’ve got some nerve to start whining about it once they’ve moved in. It’s not the not uncommon for people to buy properties beside pubs and live music venues  and then petition the council to shut them down because they’re too noisy! ……awful eejits.

A very appropriate name, particularly for dubious practices of the ones I have in mind!  They drive green minis.....  But their practices have nothing mini about them....

Yes, i remember visiting a house that had a "patio" in the description. It was a small triangle of earth, possibly rubble! Yes, sensible to view! The people in the flats next to the rubbish dump/recycling plant in Wandsworth were complaining about the view of it from their balcony. It's large enough and has been there many decades; how could one miss it!

I think estate agents have been using photoshop to add lights, furniture, planting etc for a while, in order to enhance the life-style mood of the property.I guess they incorporate wriggle out clauses somewhere in their  T&Cs, but if you don't go and see a property before buying it, what can you really expect.

In the Estate Agent details: “(Some pictures are only indicative as to the potential once all work is done)” It will be interesting how/whether the article in MailOnline affects the sale of the house.

If they've used an AI generated image without saying that it's a representation in what it could be like when work is completed, along with an image of what it currently looks like, isn't that misrepresentation?

I believe that estate agents have long used wide-angle lenses to "show more features of the room" in the shot. Or make the room look bigger than it is. They have been altering the 3 dimensions, and now perhaps they are starting on the 4th - time.

The saying:  "Not everything that glitters is gold" comes to mind.If the estate agents have used AI images to show how the house could look in future, that is very naughty indeed if they did not make it clear that the picture was an illustration after all renovations are completed....  Tut tut tut!!!
