Closed railway footbridge

With the new term starting next week, I thought it would be helpful for people to know the footbridge over the railway in West Putney (Dyers Lane/Beauchamp Terrace) is closed for repairs. It's been closed for over a week & the work doesn't seem to have started yet.

I might be talking a load of rubbish, but years ago I rang the council about a big gap in the side of Quill bridge that a child could fall down on to the Railway by the back of what used to be Air Malta. I got told it was to do with Transport in the end I kept on and I think the Council came to do it. It was about a 15ft drop.

Sorry this whole conversation was about dyers lane. Barnes river bridge was also out of action.

The bridge is by the river, so comes under Barnes sw13. Mortlake high street is sw14, which still comes under Richmond. But wandsworth and Richmond council are both joined now, so I suppose they fight it out between them.

I thought this bridge came under Wandsworth, as Richmond borough is the other side of the road.

In a way I'm glad that the bridge is having some maintenance if that is indeed the case. The platform which was not done that long ago seemed to be a bit flimsy with a number of screws missing.Although technically under Richmond I believe I could not find any reference to the work or closure anywhere. My poor Google skills I hope!

There has been no workers on this bridge and it has been closed for longer than 2 weeks.I saw someone cross the bridge last week, they somehow got through or over the barrier!!

There seem to be quite a few being worked on these holidays.  I hope they are open for the start of the school term!
