I am horrified about this.
Something similar happened in the early 90s when it was said that the hospital was uneconimical to run. Not only did the hospital lose its teaching hospital status but also a very big swathe of land was sold to developers who built an enormous amount of housing at great profit. They also built the new hospital and charged the NHS eye-watering amounts.
Is history repeating itself? Preposterous and unforgivable !
