Closing police stations saved a few bob in the short term and probably in the long term too now we have got rid of neighborhood policing.One wonders how that saving has been offset by more crime, increased insurance, higher priced goods, not to mention the environment. Very hard to have a green environment which relies on shared resources when everything gets nicked or vandalized.I guess the plan all along was to have a more distant centralized police force probably built on the former East German Stasi model.
