Labour Party ant-Israel faction.

For those on this Forum who find the Labour Party far too supportive of Israel, there is perhaps a left wing alternative.Zarah Sultana dramatically quit Labour last night and declared she would be 'co-leading' a new left-wing party with Jeremy Corbyn.The ardent pro-Palestinian MP is a long-term critic of Keir Starmer, and was already sitting as an independent after being stripped of the whip.But it seems the move caught Mr Corbyn by surprise, with the former Labour leader said to be 'furious and bewildered' - although he has yet to respond publicly. Ms Sultana now joins the Parliamentary faction of ex-Labour MPs who have ether resigned the whip or had it withdrawn for not taking the Party line on Gaza.She joins Shockat Adam, Ayoub Khan, Iqbal Mohamed and Adnan Hussain, MPs for constituencies with large numbers of Muslim electors, who in the main campaigned on a 'Pro-Gaza' (?) platform.As well as possibly Uncle Jeremy,a previous Glastonbury cult hero himself !Some wags have suggested the new Party should be called the 'New Anti-Zionist Independent' party😉

I saw the proposed name too, Mr Hawkes. It's Most appropriate but sadly I doubt it will find favour with either Sultana or Corbyn aka Fruit and Nut.

From the Spectator today."None of those involved in the new party, whether they eventually include Corbyn or not, ever had any business in a mainstream left of centre party, so Labour is better off without them. As for their relevance: there is clearly a space for opposition to Labour from the left. The problem is that in election after election voters have made clear that space is small and of almost no psephological importance. Where Labour is vulnerable – and has already lost seats in 2024 – is to sectarian Muslim voting. That is where the real story is".
