Jeremy Corbyn to set up a new left-wing party alongside a former Labour MP.Zarah Sultana, who lost the Labour whip a year ago and currently sits in the Commons as an independent, announced the move in a statement posted on X.The Coventry South MP said other independent MPs would also be joining the new party.She said: “Today, after 14 years, I am resigning from the Labour Party.“Jeremy Corbyn and I will co-lead the founding of a new party, with other independent MPs, campaigners and activists across the country.Following the 'R' theme will he call it Reclaim Labour ...?Will Dianne Abbott join him?

It would be good to have a proper left wing party to vote for. I didnt vote for Labour this time round as they are nearly as right wing as the tories.The new party will probably turn out to be a disaster but you never know!

The problem is Corbyn has chosen before between policies and the Labour Party he has always chosen the Labour Party.Why would you choose a leader that put Party before country?The tribal forces that many people face go beyond logic and reason.

I'm in favour of more choice and Reform have shown it is relatively easy and cheap to set up a new party.But I doubt Corbyn will be part of any new party.I suspect he is still dreaming to be readmitted to the Labour Party.Time will tell.
