Just received rather a fierce reminder about an outstanding parking fine which must be paid IMMEDIATELY! As I don't have a car I wasn't worried but someone who does have a car just might get taken in.

I agree, Michael.I do not have your knowledge on tech matters but I refuse to use QR codes, even in restaurants to see their menus. As time progresses, I become more and more wary of tech matters. :-(

Yes, the scams keep coming. The big area at present is "quishing": sticking a QR code over an existing one to take people to a fraudulent website. It's used extensively on parking places - last week I heard of someone in Suffolk scammed when taking the train to London and having money stolen during his journey. (I believe the bank dealt with it efficiently.)It's interesting because I remember that scam being anticipated by a techie who worked for me when QR codes first appeared so I've always been wary of them!
