Hello Michael B,I think the Greenham Common protestors did not have an easy ride. As far as I remember, they were protesting against the US holding cruise/nuclear missiles on Common land. As far as I remember, they did not invade the RAF Greenham Common other than a small group who climed the fence to dance in the base. On other instances, for example, they chained themselves to the base fence in 1982 and , in another, formed a human chain around the base in 1983. The women were evicted quite a few times until the base was closed and eventually decommissioned in 2000. Almost two decades is a long time to protest continuously.Unlike the Palestine Action, I do not recall the Greenham Common protestors damaging any planes or infrastructure. But the main difference between the two is that the Greenham Common protestors were there to protest and not damage as the newly created Palestine Action.
