It's not all bad news....

Dedpite the terrible ongoing slaughter, enforced mass starvation and threatened ethnic cleansing being inflicted by an out-of-control Israel Defence Force in Gaza, there are some more hopeful things to savour:- the chaos enveloping Reform, with the chair, Zia Yusuf resigning amid a silly spat over the burqa and various councillors bring sacked or standing down, all indicating the whole shambles is a one-man operation with no one allowed to outshine Farage;- plans to stop the scandalous payment of bonuses to water company executives: over £112 million lavished in the last 10 years despitecthe increasing pollution in our rivers;- best of all, though, is the collapsed 'bromance' between Trump and Musk, with Musk calling for Trump to be impeached and Trump calling his ex-pal "crazy." When thieves fall out....

Mr Hawkes, what's mocking about noting some social media comments between those who seem to have outsized egos, and other reported infirmation indicating what appears to be a chaotic white house that could have fallout on the world economy and conflicts ... I suppose it might be my cynical view of politics in general - we shouldn't forget the ambushing of other heads of state such Zelensky and Ramaphosa ...

Mr Hawkes. I was just reflecting social media posts made by Trump, Musk and Bannon that have been reported and discussed in MSM. Musk has admitted to taking ketamin for depression in an interview, and apparently smoked cannabis on a video webcast. So I wouldn't categorise that as gossip but information that's of interest to anyone wondering about the crazy things going on in the world today. They're also all linked by relations between the three individuals and the posts have been triggered as responses, so you have a rather odd concept of randomness! If you're comfortable with all that, fine, ignore my post, and enjoy the world's richest man, the most powerful man and a fraudster (Bannon pleaded guilty!) acting like kids in a playground :-) Of course, some in the US think it's all just a deliberate distraction to mask what Peter Thiel's company, Palantir, is doing constructing a system to combine the data that the DOGE team have extracted from multiple federal agencies they've been working in. Now that is speculative, but to be expected with the lack of transparency and governance that DOGE have been subject to, and without a published aim other than supposedly to cut expenditure ...

More so given that out local MP is part of the Government.Not to mention that there is very little in policy differences between Trump and Biden or even other Democrats when it comes to Israel.

White House watching is becoming quite a spectator sport, particularly now that Steve Bannon's joined in telling Trump to deport Musk as an illegal immigrant (well, I believe Musk did overstay his student visa at one time? Others have been deported for similar infringements), Musk says the Epstein files haven't been released because they implicate Trump (although he's not provided evidence) and calls for Trump’s impeachment because of (I think) his finance bill (well EVs will suffer financial support cuts, won't they - so more pressure on Tesla's shares?) - then Trump threatens to cancel Musk’s contracts - but, which ones: NASA needs SpaceX (and Starship when it stops exploding, sorry, I mean unscheduled disassembling) and SpaceX is also used for launching US military satellites, and isn't the Starlink network integral to a new air traffic control service that's desperately needed, and some US defence departments? Oops ... and whose money helped Trump get elected? Musk may have a few cards, unless Trump takes Bannon's advice of seizing SpaceX while banishing Musk ...Stiil, some in the US think Musk should lay off the ketamine - but what's fueling Taco man, Don the Con; just bruised ego? But, perhaps they'll kiss and make up in both their selfish interests? Scary thing is, Trump has the nuclear codes, let's hope he doesn't leave them lying around when Musk's is allegedly drugged up ...

The Trump-Musk squabble gets better and better, with Trump now saying the best way to save money would be to quit funding Musk and Steve Bannon suggesting that Musk should be deported.The best comment on this so far is below the line in the Times, where D Cliff wrote:"Meanwhile, self absorbed in this pathetic hissy fit, Trump sits idly on the sidelines while Putin continues to commit war crimes in his illegal occupation of Ukraine, and Netanyahu continues his genocidal, murderous attacks on Palestinians.
