Congestion Charge proposals - give us your feedback!

Changes to the congestion charge scheme."You have until Monday 4 August 2025 to give us your feedback!"I believe they have to have a consultation - listening to the feedback may well be optional!Luckily there is no congestion in SW15 and the air is all clean ;)One wonders why they didn't introduce a small congestion charge during peak time within the North/South Circular maximising the return on the installed infrastructure rather than expanding the ULEZ to the M25 that includes areas with very little public transport most of which doesn't go across London.https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/congestion-charge-proposals

I think they needed funds before that.With electric cars being 20% of UK car sales in 2024 and exempt (I assume because EV's they do not cause congestion) it means revenue has been dropping for some time.Also collecting fines on people who have old cars have surprising proved to be quite expensive and difficult - who would have thought!The mismash of TFL exemption and discounts across TFL road charging schemes would make Gordon Brown proud. As as if they were run by separate companies not one organisation!Every scheme has slightly different criteria none are consistent which makes it easy for the US embassy to correctly describe it as a tax.

I suppose they need funds to help to fund the nationalization of SWR......
