As you'll all know by now - a small component on a sub-station broke, causing a fire. Typical of UK's crumbling core infrastruture - no £ going into core power stations, etc, masses diverted into wind turbines that only last seven years on average and don't produce electricity 60% of the time. Electricity makes up only 20% of UK energy use - we depend on gas and oil, utterly.. All those at the Cabinet Office's 'critical infrastructure' unit are stupidly concerned only with 'cyber', not really critical elements such as airports, power engineering, roads and railways.. How typical of today's Gen Z civil servants..
